Electric cars off to a slow start in France

Peugeoti0nSilver_thumb It’s been a slow start to life for electric cars in France – with just 406 registrations during February.

Electric vehicles made up just 0.25 per cent of the market in February – that’s despite the fact that Bollore BlueCars almost doubled its January sales with 290 registrations – representing 71.4 per cent of electric vehicle registrations.

Its nearest challenger was the Renault Fluence with just 28 registrations; followed by the Mia with 27 units; the Nissan LEAF with 24 units; the Citroen C-ZERO with 21 units; and the Peugeot i0n (pictured) with 15 units.

Elsewhere, hybrid cars made up just 0.7 per cent of the market – while diesels continued to expand in popularity, gaining four points to take their market share to 73.6 per cent.
